Athlete has blueprint for success

Tennis athlete and third-year architecture student Keith Boggero will continue his academic career at Cal Poly after the tennis program was cut this year. Boggero ended the 2010 season with a 7-5 overall record and is not pleased that he will not be returning to the court next year.

Phyllis Sackett

Former coach's wife dies

Phyllis Sackett, the wife of former cross country and track and field Head Coach, Jim Sackett, died of a heart attack on May 18. She was 69. Jim Sackett was the cross country and track coach at Cal Poly from 1980 to 2007. It was under Sackett that the cross country team won the NCAA Div.

Women's soccer team gears up for next season

Following the 10 win and 10 loss 2009 season for the Cal Poly women’s soccer team, Head Coach Isabelle Harvey and Assistant Coach Erin Reinke knew they had some work cut out for themselves in the offseason. With the loss of five senior athletes, the women’s coaching staff was well aware of the recruiting that needed to be done.
